Isang paru-paro
Sa sapot ko'y dumapo
Ang magandang pakpak
Sa pag-igkas ay nahapo
Ako'y nagalak sa pagkaing nasilo
Makulay na pakpak ay nabigo
Na iahon ang kawawang paru-paro
Sa sedang patibong ko
Nagmamadali kong tinungo nahuling mariposa
Ngunit isang bata ang sa kanya'y naawa
Sa malagkit na sapot siya'y pinalaya
"Tingnan mo, Inay, napakaganda"
Himutok ng puso at kalam ng sikmura
Ako ay muling nabigo at mata'y lumuha
Ang mas maganda at mahina
Dinaig ng tusong sa gabing ito'y magugutom
