Bukang-Liwayway
Dan Kevin Roque
Malamig ang lupa
sa ilalim ng aking mga paa,
mula sa pagkabasa sa ulan.
Kasabay ng pag-ahon
ng Haring Araw sa Silanganan
ang mga ibon
ay nagsipag-awitan.
Awit ng pag-asa;
humahaplos sa puso,
gumigising sa diwa.
Sa umaga ang tula ay umuusbong
kasabay ng paglimot
sa pait ng kahapon.
Dan Kevin Roque is a sophomore Bachelor of Arts, major in English student at Araullo University-PHINMA. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Viewpoint, a Pamiyabe 2013 Fellow, and a recipient of the Gawad Emman Lacaba Special Citation for Poetry. He dedicates this poem of hope for all the people who experienced adversities in life and survived, and for those who are still battling their demons. This is a part of the Gawad Bagwis poetry series.
